Our tourist train is usually hauled by a steam locomotive, a living symbol of our railway heritage. However, on certain occasions, services will exceptionally be operated by a diesel locomotive, due to the temporary unavailability of qualified volunteer drivers.

Rather than cancelling these departures, we have chosen to maintain the journeys in order to ensure your experience and support our charitable commitments.

The fare remains unchanged as the full service, route and activities are still fully provided. Your booking, even on these exceptional journeys, actively contributes to the preservation of our operation.
